Planning means deciding. In scaffolding construction, this is mainly a matter of structural safety with economic means. For this, you need complete control over the load-bearing function all the time. Sufficient knowledge and skills would be available for this. However, the application involves a great amount of time and cost, which is not appropriate for the scaffolding business. Instead of helping the system scaffolding business, they suffocate it.
What is needed is a paradigm shift in such a way that the undoubtedly high school of load-bearing function analysis, with which the special load-bearing behavior of scaffolding systems has now been made controllable, is put into the service of scaffolding construction practice. This is only possible by presenting the necessary computational skills in such a way that they assist the decision-making processes in the design and dimensioning of scaffolding structures. In other words, by making them applicable on an equal level with the “rough calculation” that used to be common practice. This, however, in a quality that satisfies all formal-technical requirements for professional competence. This is possible with the appropriate use of IT support for scaffolding construction.
The consistent implementation of the flexibility of scaffolding systems in configuration and structure formation is the means to achieve this!
